Kevin McKenzie


Kevin McKenzie began his career as an apprentice with the Ginger Group in Sloane Square, Chelsea, London – their flagship store. He rose quickly through the ranks, moving on to become Artistic Director at Andre Bernard Oxford Street, responsible for cutting edge fashion shoots for Miss London and Hair Magazine, as well as training and developing staff for competitions.

Throughout his career in London Kevin took part in numerous fashion shoots for Vogue, Harpers & Queen, Cosmopolitan, Over 21 as well as many fashion shows, including multiple London Fashion Weeks.

Personal clients included David Gilmour of Pink Floyd, members of Iron Maiden, Maria ‘Poly Styrene’ from X-Ray Spex, Delia Smith, and actors Claire Bloom and Frank Findlay.

After running a successful salon in London for many years, and then operating freelance in the heart of the City of London, Kevin was inspired to move to sunnier shores.

In 2002 Kevin moved to Sydney, Australia. After developing a large following and learning about the industry here in Australia, Kevin launched his salon Kevin McKenzie Hair London in 2007, operating for a wonderful ten years until 2017.

Kevin has had many high profile clients including former Miss World Australia Erin Victoria Holland, former Mrs Australia Kate Johnson, Duff from Guns N’ Roses, Nicole Millar (Peking Duk) and Chef Michael Moore.

Kevin has also worked with many high profile brands including Jimmy Choo, Coach, OJAY and Hype DC.
